Thoughts on Georgia?: It was really exciting to win a big rivalry game like this, but we have to put it behind us as we have another one with the Gators coming up next.
Did you make any halftime
adjustments?: Really it was more of what we decided to stick with for the remainder of the year. We're going to shove it down the opponents throats, dare them to stop us, and milk the clock in the process. That obviously worked for us today.
Effects
going forward?: Hopefully this plan can net us wins in at least 3 of our next four games and we can play in a minor bowl game and lay the foundation for coming seasons.

Mississippi State Postgame Report; L 28-47
Thoughts on Mississippi State?: We really took a step back today. We can't run te offense the way I'd like so it looks like we're going to have to play ball-control from here on out.
Did you make any halftime adjustments?: Sure.
Effects going forward?: Again, ball-control, keep away football and hope we can hang on just to get bowl eligible.
Player of the Game:
Freshman WR, Gastonia, NC - 9 receptions, 76 yards, 2 TD's

Alabama Postgame Report; L 21-42
Thoughts on Alabama?: I'm proud of our guys for not giving up against the defending National Champions. They are where we want to be and I think our guys have seen what it takes to get there.
Did you make any halftime adjustments?: We did, but the Tide was just too deep for us to pull them off.
Effects going forward?: All of these young players getting playing time should help down the road.
Player of the Game:
Senior DB, Madison, TN - 12 Tackles, 1 Pass deflection

Ole Miss Postgame Report; L 2-52
Thoughts on Ole Miss?: It's obvious we were not ready for SEC play today. Give credit to the Rebels, they came and spanked our tail in all facets of the game today.
Did you make any halftime adjustments?: Our young men are not mentally strong enough to play at the caliber they need to in order to win in this league. I told you it was going to be a rebuilding project and this certainly proves it.
Effects going forward?: Find a way to win.
Player of the Game:
Freshman LB, Alpena, MI - 13 Tackles

Purdue Postgame Report; L 3-22
Thoughts on Purdue?: I'm not concerned with Purdue, I'm concerned with Tennessee. We came out today lifeless. I suppose the only bright spot might be the defense. The offense kept putting them in bad spots, but they kept fighting.
Did you make any halftime adjustments?: We certainly did, but the lack of execution negated any changes we made.
Effects going forward?: We've started a streak, but it's just not the right kind. We have to keep working on Tennessee and right the ship before it's too late.

Junior LB, Jackson, TN - 10 Tackles, 1 Forced fumble

Iowa State Postgame Report; L 13-24
Thoughts on Iowa State?: This is a day that will live in infamy for me, and hopefully, for our team. It's going to be tough to pick ourselves off of the floor after this one, but we have to do it in short order. You have to win games like this to even be bowl eligible and at this point I can questions even that as a possibility..
Did you make any halftime adjustments?: We tried to change some things up, but between our mistakes and their adjustments, it wasn't enough. They simply had an answer for everything today.
Effects going forward?: We have to approach it as if this were the last game of last season and we are about to start a new season. If we dwell on this, we won't amount to much of anything going forward.

Freshman LB, Alpena, MI - 6 Tackles, 3 Sacks

Akron Postgame Report; W 44-24
Thoughts on Akron?: Thankfully their strengths, team strength and elusiveness, are the same as our strengths. With that being said, we are a little stronger and a little more elusive. That showed in the first half, which allowed us to build a big lead. Luckily, we had just enough depth to hold them off as they made a run in the second half.
Did you make any halftime adjustments?: Not really. Given our big lead at the half, we pretty much kept the same game plan. Hunt had another big day running the ball and added some big time receptions out of the backfield. Things really slowed down for Spencer after the snap and he had a monster day throwing the ball.
Effects going forward?: We're going to focus on self improvement during these last two non conference games. We don't want to get too fancy and show Kentucky or our other conference foes our full hand just yet.
Feelings about dropping out of the Top 25 after Week 2?: I saw where they had us in the mid thirties. I feel like that's about right and where we will probably finish the year. I hope I'm wrong, but we're just making too many mistakes right now and don't have the depth to compensate for it.
Player of the Game:
Juan Hunt
Sophomore QB, Morganton, NC - Passing - 26 of 38 for 366 Yds. and 4 TD. Rushing - 12 for 26 Yds.

Boise State Postgame Report; W 34-22
Thoughts on DePaul?: Going into this game we didn't have much info on them and really weren't concerned much about them. They certainly proved us wrong, going into halftime with a seven point lead.
Did you make any halftime adjustments?: We were doing some things in the first half that were stressing our Linebackers and Defensive Line. We made those changes in the locker room and it obviously helped us out as we only allowed a field goal in the second half. Offensively, we tried to do some things to open up our running game. Our running backs certainly got more touches, and although they couldn't break the big one, it opened up our passing game.
Effects going forward?: We'll take what we learned from this game and use it for the remainder of our non-conference schedule. It was a good learning experience for us. I'll be really disappointed if this situation repeats itself over the next four games.

Season 100 Recruiting Summary
I had 11 scholarships available and no bowl money, as this was my inaugural season on Rocky Top. Needs for this season included a WR, TE, OL, 3 DL, 3 LB, and 2 DB's.
We're really excited about what Johnny can do the minute he steps on campus. It's a rare occasion that you can sign a Top 25 recruit and we are fortunate enough that we were able to do that twice this season.
John is our second Top 25 signee and we expect him to see plenty of snaps this season.
Joseph and Clarence are expected to come in and seal up a defensive unit that struggled last year. It will be more important than we anticipated as we were unable to sign any DL in this class and will have very little depth at that position. They are going to have to cheat up and make a lot of plays at the line of scrimmage.
Andrew and Kenneth are also anticipated to get significant snaps in the secondary. Assuming we can stop the run, they will be called upon to shut down the deep passing game.
The fact that we were only able to fill just over one half of our scholarships this year simply means the opportunity for early playing time next season will be even more of a reality for incoming elite recruits. The Vols had the 37th ranked recruiting class in Season 100, up 14 spots from the previous season and the highest in six seasons, with four 4 star recruits.

Fresh start at University of Tennessee -- martini35504 named new head football coach - MSNBC
In my 39th season of Gridiron Dynasty, I take over at Tennessee, whose last 3 coaches have averaged 5 to 6
seasons and has cracked the top 25 only 3 times in the last 15 seasons and the
top 10 only 3 times in the last thirty.
Team was fifth in total player rating in the SEC (after I
cut 3 SIM players). Previous year’s team was ranked 53rd in total
roster rank by GUESS reports and 51st in recruit class rank. I will have to cut five more SIM players over the course of the next two years to achieve a roster that has been fully recruited by human coaches.
In my previous 38 seasons I have coached at DIII Hampden-Sydney, DII Pace, DI-AA Stephen F. Austin and Jackson State, and DI TCU, Cincinnati, Wisconsin, and Colorado. Although I only won two conference championships during that time, I always coached in DI conferences that had a number of elites. I look forward to being able to recruit with relative ease at my first elite and ending the revolving door of coaches on Rocky Top.
